Margaret A. Withrow, DPM
Dr. Margaret Withrow is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgeons and has been practicing for 19 years.
A native of Ohio, she received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. After breaking her ankle during a camping trip, she went to a podiatrist and was interested in learning more about this field. She obtained her podiatry degree at the Ohio College of Podiatric medicine, now known as Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine and was Salutatorian. Dr. Withrow did her Podiatric residency at Cleveland Clinic Foundation as well as her foot and ankle surgery residency at Cleveland Clinic/Community Health Partners where she was Chief Resident.
Dr. Withrow opened Roadrunner Foot and Ankle in 2008. Dr. Withrow’s patients enjoy not only her knowledge and expertise but are welcomed by the friendly and familiar faces at her practice. She prides herself in treating patients like family.
Dr. Withrow lives with her husband and three children in the West Valley along with 2 dogs and at last count 13 fish. She loves spending time with her family and in her spare time enjoys hiking, playing tennis, cooking, reading, traveling, and scuba diving.
Gary N. Friedlander, DPM, FACFAS
Dr. Gary Friedlander is Board Certified in Foot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgeons, Fellow with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and Fellow, with the American Professional Wound Care Association.
He has been practicing podiatry in a private setting since 1982 when he first established his practice in Sun City, Arizona. Dr. Friedlander’s practice emphasizes a diversity of areas including vascular foot and ankle, geriatric, diabetic, and wound care issues. He is well respected and has been highlighted among the Top Docs in Phoenix Magazine.
A native of the Los Angeles area, he received his undergraduate degree in microbiology from San Diego State University in California. He is an honored doctoral graduate of the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and has served secondary positions within the podiatric community including Residency Director of Podiatry at Community Hospital Medical Center as well as Associate Professor and Clinic Coordinator at the Arizona Podiatric Medicine Program, at Midwestern University College of Health Sciences in Glendale, Arizona. In his spare time, Dr. Friedlander continues teach at Midwestern University.
Dr. Friedlander has used his extensive experience of practice within the geriatric community to lecture and author several papers such as “Metatarsalgia in the Aging Foot.”
Dr Friedlander is proud to say that he has been married to Tricia, a registered dietitian, for over 36 years and has two children, both having attained advanced medical degrees. Joel is a pediatric gastroenterologist and Mindy, a PhD in Nursing. Healing seems to run in the family.
Dr. Friedlander is committed to giving back to the community and volunteers at the free foot clinic at the Justa Center, a day center for homeless Veterans.
Dylan Kaumaya, DPM
Dr. Dylan Kaumaya is a graduate of Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. He did his residency at Tucson Medical Center. Born in Queens, New York he relocated with his family and grew up in Gilbert, Arizona.
He graduated from Northern Arizona University with a public health degree and decided to become a podiatrist after working on the Native American reservations including the Hopi Reservation. Much of his interactions with patients included awareness for diabetes and diabetic care and Dr. Kaumaya discovered podiatry and its potential for amputation prevention.
Dr. Kaumaya enjoys creating new relationships with patients and guiding their entire course of treatment from day 1. His motivation is the inspiration he gets from seeing his patients improve whether it is in pain relief deformity correction, good surgical outcome, the healing of wounds, or simple happiness from a great office visit.
Dr. Kaumaya lives with his girlfriend in the Valley along with their German Shepherd puppy, Akira, and 3 cats. Dr. Kaumaya enjoys spending time with his family and also hiking, technology, and trying new and exciting foods and restaurants.
Marie has been part of our team since July 2005. She started out at the checkout window and has moved around the front office doing different tasks. She also covers in the back when needed. Marie is now the office manager for the practice. Marie enjoys spending time with family and grandchildren, and she loves football.
Lorrie joined our staff in April 2019. She greets patients, schedules all surgeries and has exceptional customer service. Lorrie enjoys spending time with family, reading and football.
Maria has been part of our team since September 2005. She works with Dr. Withrow as a medical assistant. She received her Medical Assistant diploma from American Career College in July 2005. She has also been a Certified Practical Technologist in Podiatry Radiology since 2006. Maria is our Spanish language interpreter. She enjoys spending time with her family and raising her two sons.
Amira joined our office as a Medical Assistant in November 2020. She is a new graduate from Arizona College. She enjoys spending time with family, reading and hiking.
Elyse is a Medical Assistant at our office and was born in Arizona. She has lived in the Phoenix area since second grade. Working in the health care field has been enjoyable since she loves helping people. She has 2 French Bulldogs named Fitz and Ivy. She loves to craft and enjoys spending time with her boyfriend.
Rachael is a Medical Assistant at our practice and is originally from Idaho. She moved to Phoenix to spend time with her Mom. She has worked in the medical field for 5 years and is currently pursuing her nursing degree. She enjoys working at Roadrunner Foot and Ankle because she enjoys learning from her colleagues and it has been a fun and inviting environment. She enjoys painting, reading, plays professional pool and going to church. She also has two dogs and a cat.
Jackie is a Medical Assistant at our office and an Arizona native. Prior to joining Roadrunner Foot and Ankle she worked for a Neurology practice and enjoys working in the healthcare field because she enjoys seeing patients improved based on the plan of care for them. She has 2 boys and a German Shepherd. In her free time she watches TV shoes and spending time her two boys.
